Galbut Beabeau, P.C. is proud to announce that Keith Galbut, and his wife Becky, have pledged to financially support the Public Interest Fellowship at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. The Public Interest Fellowship encourages ASU Law students to work with nonprofit organizations to advance social, cultural, and structural changes, including social justice reform.

With a focus on producing policy and legal leaders who can be powerful agents for change in society, ASU Law leadership and students came together last year to find ways to make a difference. The Public Interest Fellowship resulted as a program to best support students’ desire to take part in meaningful opportunities to promote social justice reform. The fellowship is funded by a variety of sponsors, including Galbut Beabeau’s Keith Galbut and his wife, Becky.

“This fellowship has been an opportunity for our firm to continue to encourage the next generation of lawyers to incorporate civic engagement, service, and a greater concern for the wellbeing of the community into their lives and practices. Our firm believes in supporting the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law’s pledge of solidarity to address racial and social gaps in our society’s structural framework. This type of work and commitment is not only rooted in the foundation of our attorneys’ personal values, but also our company’s mission,” said Keith Galbut, President of Galbut Beabeau.

“We have so many ASU Law students who are passionate about giving back to the community and want to pursue opportunities in the public-interest sector and social just reform,” said ASU Law Dean Douglas Sylvester. “That is why it was so important for us to band together with our students in creating the Public Interest Fellowship. Thanks to the generosity of leaders like Keith and Becky and the Galbut Beabeau firm, our students will now be able to follow their career dreams knowing they have the financial support they need to do so.”

Sylvester added that more than 15 ASU Law students were recently selected to be the first cohort of Public Interest Fellows. “We can’t wait to see the amazing work that they accomplish,” he said. “We also look forward to the continued support of our ASU Law community in funding future fellows, and give our heartfelt thanks once again to Keith and Becky for being a part of it.”
